I was the youngest by 30 years…
In 2017 my husband talked me into taking a ceramics class at the local Active Adult Center. Silver Sneakers met across the hall. I was the youngest person there by about three decades, and I learned from those folks about clay, and about not rushing something that isn't ready. I've spent the years since refining the craft.
Ashley Santoo Studio opened in 2024. I still make everything myself — thrown on the wheel, carved by hand, glazed one drop at a time.
